Beginning in Lands End on 19 May the London 2012 Olympic Torch Relay will cross the UK, travelling within 10 miles of 95% of the UK population on its way to the Opening Ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic Games on 27 July 2012. The Relay is the prelude to the Games, exciting and unifying the country in anticipation of the sporting excellence to follow.
As the National Presenting Partner of the Relay we’re helping to take the inspiration of the Olympic Flame to communities across the UK, past their doorsteps, into their schools and along their high streets. The Relay will stop every evening for special events to celebrate its arrival and enable the community to showcase the best their area has to offer.
The Flame will pass through more than 1,000 communities along the route so, whether you live in Sunderland, Southend or Salford, Pontypool, Penzance or Perth you’ll be able to share in the excitement.
You can see the full list of communities on the route here.
