Evening Celebrations
The London 2012 Olympic Torch Relay
19 May 2012 marks the start of one of the most eagerly awaited aspects of the London 2012 Olympic Games - the London 2012 Olympic Torch Relay. With the Relay coming within 10 miles of 95% of the UK population, Lloyds TSB is helping to ensure that the inspiration of the Olympic Flame reaches as many UK residents as possible.
Beginning in Land’s End and finishing at the Olympic Stadium in London to mark the start of the 2012 Olympic Games on 27 July, the Olympic Flame will travel across the UK from Cornwall to the Shetland Islands, visiting the four Nations’ capitals and numerous Games venues along the way.
Each evening on the Relay an event will take place to celebrate the arrival of the Olympic Flame and to showcase the best of that community. You can see the list of evening celebration events below.
You can see the more detailed community-level route here, but the street-level route won’t be revealed until a few weeks before the Relay passes through each community
You can also find the Relay route and Evening Celebrations on our map .
