Lloyds TSB National School Sport Week

About the week

Lloyds TSB National School Sport Week, delivered in partnership with the Youth Sport Trust, is a fun week of sport and celebration. This year between 28 June and 2 July, schools held Opening and Closing ceremonies, helping their pupils try a new Olympic and Paralympic sport, organising inter and intra-school competitions and embedding the Olympic and Paralympic Values across the curriculum.

We provided free resources to schools, including a teacher planning pack full of lots of ideas to help them inspire more young people to do more sport. And Olympians and Paralympians, Lloyds TSB Local Heroes and our own colleagues visited schools during the week to help celebrate young people’s achievements and present awards.  We’ll announce the details of Lloyds TSB National School Sport Week 2011 in the autumn.

The research for National School Sport Week shows that increased participation by young people in sport increases their confidence, aids the development of team working and fair play and plays a role in developing friendships and bringing communities together.
